How it works

A pilot study (Chinese University of Hong Kong) using non-invasive focused ultrasound to modulate deep brain structures, here aimed specifically at the sleep disturbances that accompany chronic tinnitus rather than at the tinnitus percept itself. No results are published yet. It shares the focused-ultrasound technology base with the Oxford deep-brain ultrasound program.

This describes the treatment concept as reported in the cited research: a scientific mechanism, not a guarantee of clinical availability.
