How it works

A biologic (Neuracle) targeting the protein FAM19A5 to restore cochlear synaptic connections, another therapeutic test of the Cochlear Synaptopathy hypothesis. The active Phase 1b/2a trial targets sudden sensorineural hearing loss as an early salvage therapy, not tinnitus, and no efficacy results are published yet.

This describes the treatment concept as reported in the cited research: a scientific mechanism, not a guarantee of clinical availability.
