How it works

An oral combination of HPN-07 and N-acetylcysteine (originally Otologic Pharmaceutics, licensed to Oblato Inc.) designed to protect and help regenerate nerve endings damaged by noise, targeting the cochlear nerve loss the Cochlear Synaptopathy hypothesis implicates. Phase 1 showed good safety, but Phase 2 has never started for lack of funding, so there is no tinnitus efficacy data.

This describes the treatment concept as reported in the cited research: a scientific mechanism, not a guarantee of clinical availability.
